In my earlier book review, I spoke of Courage and how everyone of us has that courage embedded deep within us.  What if that courage feels so lost and alienated? 

How much we know and understand ourselves is critically important. In fact, I believe there is no better person to know on this earth than YOURSELF. Can we fully embrace our imperfections?  Do we have it in us to keep giving when we just don't feel we have anymore to give? What if I told you that all of our imperfections are beautiful?   Would you really believe me? I mean REALLY believe me? 

Ask yourself if you are truly engaging in your life to the fullest?  Are you living wholeheartedly? Wholehearted living is a process not a one time choice and your done.  It is a struggle up hill that lends to intentional effort. 

Brene Brown gives us a clear picture of what we need in order to live a wholehearted life.  Courage, Compassion, and Connection.  Her focus on obtaining that level of  authenticity involves the concept of vulnerability and how we must be willing to invite that into our lives. Is vulnerability easy to obtain? Does every woman have the ability to open up and give every part of who she is no matter what? 

Wholehearted living is about ENGAGING in our lives from a place of WORTHINESS. It comes from a place where you can wake up in the morning and think, No matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.  Its going to bed at night thinking, Yes, I am imperfect and vulnerable and sometimes afraid, but that doesn't change the truth that I am also brave and worthy of love and belonging.

"The Gifts of Imperfection" is truly a great book.  The title alone lends itself to a new awakening that we all need whether we recognize that need or not.  Brene Brown does an excellent job of teaching us just how to let go of WHO WE THINK WE ARE SUPPOSED to be and JUST BE WHO WE ARE NOW! Embracing imperfections .................
