I WANT TO LET YOU IN on a not-so-hidden secret: We are all a little scared. We all feel threatened by riptide emotions that seem dangerous and out of our control. We keep a white-knuckled grip on our ideas of what we must be for the world-and what the world must be for us. We're often afraid of being irrelevant, worthless, or forgotten. We worry about what will happen if we speak up, or what will happen if we stay quiet and rest for even a moment. We are like trapped little hamsters.....scared into stillness but vibrating with anxiety.
Do you ever wonder if who you are is "enough" for those around you? Those to which you serve everyday? Do you feel like you just aren't doing enough? Do you ever have that feeling of self-doubt in trying new things or stopping that one thing you know you should stop? What about that good ole' comparison monster? That monster loves to pop up and allow you to compare yourself to another.
Ladies, that is somehow part of our internal make-up but it is one we CAN DEFEAT EVERYDAY. What we don't realize is that comparison devalues who we are in Christ. Aren't we Enough? Didn't God make us beautiful in every single way just by breathing his life into us?
Just about everything we do in life depends on how we show up and if we have the COURAGE to be just who we were meant to be. How do you obtain this courage? Life gets messy and when it does sometimes it can feel so overwhelming. Face it or run away? Sometimes that second option sounds pretty good. The stress of life can sometimes do that to a woman. At some point in my life or another I have been guilty of feeling incompetent simply because I would place the highest expectations on myself. I never realized that no matter what I did, I WAS ENOUGH!
The meaning of courage itself can be defined by some as standing up to others, falling off the bicycle or riding a roller coaster that you have been deathly afraid to do. Although these things take courage, it is the BATTLE WITHIN US that keeps us weak, scared, and defeated. The "Courage" we need is only discovered through a relationship with Jesus Christ. This courage is a direct link of God's grace. This grace is so powerful it changes us from the inside out. It allows us to see ourselves through God's eyes not the eyes of the world. The worldly eyes will make you feel "lacking." We gain the courage and confidence we need because of that very grace. Ladies, WE ARE BRAVE ENOUGH!
Nicole Unice's stories, wisdom, and practical tools empower us to stop self-doubting and start conquering our fears one by one. She gives us the tools we need to open up about our weaknesses and fears allowing our vulnerability to lead us to a place of self-contentment. Being vulnerable can be hard for some of us to grasp but Nicole leads us to that place of making "Peace Within Ourselves" and LOVING EVERY PART OF WHO WE ARE!
